What are your specialist areas?
Technical recruitment experience across the spectrum over the last 17 years, including C-suite hires, Business Transformation, Software, Cyber Security and IT Infrastructure. I love a challenge so the more niche the better!
Why should you be my Guru?
Recruitment isn’t a numbers game, it’s far more personal than that. I manage the personal journey from finding candidates to retaining them, in fact, I manage the team that delivers this journey. My biggest goals are not just making sure our clients and candidates have a first-class experience, it’s loving what I do on a day-to-day basis and smiling along the way.
What’s your background?
From Sports Scientist to a club promotor to a recruiter and now a Director at Digital Gurus, it’s been a whirlwind! I’m in my 17th year as a technical recruiter and almost 10 of those with Digital Gurus. I started my recruitment life a little later than most working on the software development market focusing on database developers and Oracle ERP. I’ve led teams of contract and permanent recruiters for the last 14 years, motivating, inspiring and leading a brilliant bunch of people.
Why did you join Digital Gurus?
Recruitment can be done in different ways, you can choose to be the numbers guy or girl and not care about the people you touch, or you can try to provide real solutions that help businesses and people. I joined Digital Gurus because they gave me the chance to use my creativity and my own unique style to recruit. It also gave me the chance to lead a region, manage some hugely successful people and develop the next generation of brilliant recruiters, without removing the human factor.
Sport, all sport, every sport! Good music, although most people will tell me the stuff I listen to isn’t good music… everything from ear-bleeding drum ’n’ bass to heavy heavy metal. I don’t mind a cheeky pint from time to time either!
