Data Governance Manager

Location: Bristol

Salary: Up to £60,000 + Bonus and benefits

I am currently recruiting for a Data Governance Manager to join a market-leading business in the centre of Bristol within an easily commutable distance from the train station. My client leads the field in their discipline.

Reporting into the Business Intelligence Manager, the Data Governance Manager will be joining at an exciting time for the organisation and will be at the forefront of driving the wider organisation forward in utilising its considerable data assets to provide transformative business benefit.

The Data Governance Manager will lead and manage organisation-wide data governance activities across the business and will have responsibility for improving the quality of data and information assets. The position will focus on establishing and ensuring adherence to an enterprise data governance framework for data policies, standards and practices in order to achieve the required level of consistency and quality to meet overall business needs.

Required skills:

  • Experience in a data governance / quality / analysis roles, with large-scale data or project management and oversight experience.
  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills
  • Extensive experience in advising, supporting and influencing Senior Management with the confidence and communication skills to enact change at all levels of the business.
  • Business and Process Transformation leadership experience
  • Provable knowledge of industry leading data quality and data governance management practices
  • Provable knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets
  • Knowledge of data related government regulatory requirements and emerging trends and issues
  • Consulting skills, with understanding of change management concepts and strategies, including communication, cultural change and performance measurement design
  • Knowledge of data architecture and technology solutions
  • Internally and externally recognised subject matter expert that can influence the way things are done
