Why Hybrid is still king in 2025

Why Hybrid is still king heading into 2025

The overall trend in 2024 has seen a return to the office for an increasing number of organisations with most choosing Hybrid but a significant number going fully on-site 5 days a week.

This year (2024), approximately 51% of employees in the UK actively work in a hybrid model, an increase from previous years. The demand for flexibility remains strong across all sectors, with many candidates still insisting on a desire for a balanced approach between office and remote work.

The latest surveys from The Office for National Statistics shows that 77% of employees believe a mix of office-based and remote work is ideal for the future. This aligns with broader trends where employees value flexibility and work-life balance highly, with a massive 47% willing to switch jobs to maintain hybrid or remote work options.

Our advice to hiring managers particularly in the areas of creative and technology is that if you want to attract the best in class talent at a competitive salary banding, you should always push to provide a hybrid approach as an option. Although we expected some shift back towards onsite post-Covid, we don't believe that we will ever return to pre-Covid work patterns and that the new world of work is here to stay.
